Digital Product Creation Days (DPC Days)
In January, Dhaka Digi-Hub hosted two notable Digital Product Creation (DPC) Day events for Oi Bangladesh vendors across circular knit, sweater knits, denim, outerwear, lingerie, and woven categories. These sessions aimed to increase awareness of DPC among vendors at decision-making and operational levels, motivate vendors to initiate their digitalization journey, and highlight Featuring LTD’s virtual services to support this transition.
Participants included over 50 individuals from various top management roles, executives, technicians, and designers across over 60 vendors. The sessions began with a presentation on DPC by Aurelie Rob (Digi-Hub Manager from Featuring) and Katharina Bobrowski (General Manager from Featuring), outlining how technology is used to design, develop, and conceptualize products in 3D. This approach enhances the design process, improves accuracy, reduces costs associated with physical prototyping, accelerates time-to-market, and conserves resources.
The importance of DPC was emphasized, noting that 50% of surveyed Bangladesh Liaison & Trading offices reported clients already requesting 3D services. The benefits of DPC include time and cost savings, improved collaboration, flexibility for quick modifications and multiple options, and a more environmentally friendly approach.
Concrete examples and 3D marketing strategies were discussed, including 3D visualization for all kinds of product categories, print artworks visualization on 3D shapes, fabric virtualization, 3D fitting evaluation, modula design setups, and e-commerce tests.
Louietex’s involvement was highlighted through the presentations of two key representatives. The Head of Design, Ruchira Dassanayake, shared insights into their journey with 3D technology, while Zahid Imran, the Merchandising Manager, demonstrated successful 3D applications.
Participants interacted with 3D solutions providers such as Deepa Subramaniam from Browzwear, who emphasized the proactive integration of 3D technology, along with Jahirul Alam Chowdhury from Pacific Associates Ltd (Shimaseiki Agent), and Mohammad Khaled Zaman from the Stoll BD team.
The second session showcased practical demonstrations and hands-on workshops by product categories, including 3D sweaters, 3D denim, 3D outerwear, 3D lingerie, and 3D circular knit & light woven, all presented by the featuring team. Additionally, fabric and yarn scanning demonstrations were conducted.
Overall, participants appreciated the event’s relevance and organization. The workshop met expectations, sparking particular interest in 3D solutions and its accompanying activities. Attendees found the sessions useful and expressed enthusiasm for future events.
The DPC day events at Dhaka Digi-Hub marked a significant step towards digital transformation, providing valuable insights and practical tools for Oi Bangladesh vendors.
